Steering Committee Minutes

June 11, 2007

In attendance: Bill Rich, Jim Roetzel, Jim Schmidt, Ed Toerek, Bruce Winges, Woody Newport, Sylvia Banks, and Mike Scocos.

Absent with notice: Diane Young.

  1. Minutes: Minutes of the May 14, 2007 meeting were adopted.
  2. Agenda: Adopted with the addition of the digital projector item.
  3. Digital Projector: It is agreed that we will buy an Epson 1715C, which sells for $1,799.95 from B&H Photo. A case may be had for $76.30.  It also is agreed that we will buy a spare lamp for $290.  Jim Schmidt will talk with Joanna regarding the purchase.  
  4. Workshops: We will pass out a flyer on the fall workshop at the next photo walk. Next year still is a question. A thread has been started on the forums for suggestions for the talent in 2008. We hope to try for spring and fall workshops in 2008.
  5. Calendar: Oliver Printing Co. has been selected to print the calendar. CVNPA just made that decision at the end of May. The production process begins, albeit somewhat later than in years past.
  6. Photo Contest: The rules will remain the same with a request that a black frame with a simple white mat be used. Joanna Caley said in March that she would contact Hale Farm about the possibility of holding the contest there. Jim Schmidt will see what became of that discussion. Jim also will ask Joanna what other dates are available for Happy Days in 2008, using a three-week contest (hang, judge, view) as a model.  
  7. Monthly presentations: Sylvia requested some contact information. Steering committee members are encouraged to attend the July presentation to participate in the panel discussion.
  8. Photo Walks: Next one is June 30, at Kendall Lake.

  12. Meeting Dates: The next meeting will be held as previously scheduled on Monday July 9th.
