Steering Committee

July 9, 2007 Minutes

In attendance: Bill Rich, Jim Roetzel, Jim Schmidt, Ed Toerek, Bruce Winges, Woody Newport, Sylvia Banks, and Mike Scocos.

Absent with notice: Diane Young.

  1. Minutes: Minutes of the June 11, 2007 meeting were adopted.
  2. Agenda: Adopted.
  3. President’s Report: Digital projector arrived. Ed did a quick demo and everyone was pleased with the brightness and color matching. There has been no dialogue with Hale Farm. Jim reports that Joanna Caley will start talks with Hale Farm. At the July 19 presentation the committee will solicit opinions about workshops and talks some about some technical stuff.
  4. Workshops: Fall Workshop has been sold out with 22 participants. No decisions made on future workshop talents.
  5. Calendar: The calendar is entering the final production stage and should be published in August.
  6. Photo Contest: A pdf file of the contest flyer will be posted on the CVPS web site.  
  7. Monthly presentations: There was some discussion on which comes first the lineup for the presentations or workshops. A tentative 2008 schedule is being prepared.
  8. Photo Walks: There were 25 participants for the June 30th walk at Kendall Lake. The next walk is scheduled for August 25th. Possibly at the Ironweed field if it is not mowed.
  9. Web Site / Forum: No updates
  10. Recruitment of new Steering Committee members: Discussed the need for identifying specific tasks for people to be recruited. Subcommittees could be used as a step toward membership on the Steering Committee.
  11. Tim Thomas: Jim Roetzel suggested we select one or two of Tim’s images to be printed and framed. Bruce will find out if Oliver Printing has kept past files from previous calendars.
  12. Meeting Dates: The next meeting will be held as previously scheduled on Monday August 13th.
