  1. Agenda: Adopted.
  2. Minutes: Adopted, with the exception noted that Betsy was asked to write a form confirmation letter for monthly presenters.
  3. President’s report: No particulars.
  4. Web site: Spring bird information provided by Betsy is posted.

Unresolved: Should CVPS consider sponsored links to generate revenue?

Unresolved: Should the internal committee pages be password protected?

Action: Sylvia will send electronic copy of blooming flowers in the Valley for posting.

  1. Logo: No designs yet from the volunteer artist. The interest still is there.
  2. Workshops: Eleven have signed up for Hocking Hills. They have received information packets. Betsy, Ed and Jim will facilitate the workshop.

Action: Betsy will e-mail other clubs that four spots are available.

Six or seven have signed up for the West Virginia tour.

Action: Logistics of the tour need to be determined, perhaps in a separate meeting.

Action: Images from the Mountain State will be incorporated in the monthly presentation show.

Unresolved: Do we need someone to critique for the West Virginia trip?

The coordinator position remains unfilled. Woody had suggested that we contact talent we have used previously.

Unresolved questions:

a.      Should we bring talent in off season as a speaker for a one- or two-day workshop where demonstrations replace field work?

b.      Should we have one big name workshop per year and one lesser trip/event?

c.      Should we try a couple of two-hour courses on a digital subject for around $50?

d.      Should we try one morning shoot, the digitally process in the afternoon?

Action: Betsy will start a thread on the forums.

  1. CVPS calendar: Images have been selected and delivered to Oliver Printing.
  2. Photo walks: Next up Hinckley Reservation on April 19, then Towpath Trail on May 31.

Unresolved: Should we look for alternative talent to increase diversity? Perhaps past presenters?

  1. Monthly presentations: Various possible presenters are discussed.

Unresolved: Should we ask some members to do a show and tell of trips or other images they may have?

  1. Photo contest: The Akron-Summit County Public Library wants to host the contest in July. Moving the boards from storage to the library would cost at least $516.00. Photos also would have to be moved. We also could use the auditorium for the awards ceremony. The committee agrees to:
    1. Use the library for the contest.
    2. Hold the contest in July.
    3. Charge $10 for each image submitted by non-members.
    4. Require that all photos submitted be bubble wrapped so they can be moved.
    5. Digital images of photos entered into the contest will be required.
    6. Explore whether new, lighter boards should be purchased.
  2. Budget: Information passed out. Questions remain to be resolved. Budget deadline is April 28th
  3. Other business: Draft of form letters for presenters distributed. Draft of letter thanking former committee members for service presented.

Action: Betsy will forward to Ed to make accessible from the web site.

  1. Good to order.
